A Century In The Harmon Valley
The Hawryluk family immigrated from Ukraine and landed in Harmon Valley in 1929. Granted a homestead close to the Little Prairie Church, they broke the land and begun farming as a family.
A multigenerational endeavour, Harry Hawryluk, and son Steve farmed the homestead until his death, and there Steve married and continued farming until his son Clarence, was old enough to farm alongside his father up to his father’s retirement. Clarence’s son’s now farm alongside him. A fourth generation farm in hopes of more upcoming generations to carry on the farming legacy!
In 1979 Clarence decided to diversify into the booming Alberta Oil & Gas industry by purchasing his first water truck. In 1981 he decided to pursue another Black Gold and purchased his first seismic drill, and from there the business has grown and diversified to what it is today.
The Hawryluk Family farming nearly 100 yrs in Harmon Valley, Alberta.
